There will be a parish visit the RAF Museum on Saturday 24 November.
We shall meet inside the museum on the in Hanger 1 at 11.00am and make our way to the Mezzanine floor for 11.15am where we shall be given an introduction by Karen Whiting, Director of Public Programmes. There is no entrance fee.
There is a cost of £5 to cover refreshments on arrival and an hour guided tour planned to start at around 1.00 pm. (You don’t have to go on the tour if you prefer to wander around yourself but you will still need to pay £5 which includes a contribution to its cost).
Please add your name to the list ON THE NARTHEX NOTICE BOARD in church, by Sunday 11 November, if interested, as the museum needs to know the number attending in advance and give your £5 to Richard Ashmore.
On the day, please make your own way there to Grahame Park Way, NW9 5LL. The usual route is on Edgware branch of the Northern Line to Colindale station. When you come out of the station, cross the road and go left. The museum is about 10 to 15 minutes’ walk up that road or you can get a bus.
For those who would like to sit in the cockpit of a Spitfire and learn more about it there is a Spitfire Experience. (Please see the museum’s website for more details). Being a Saturday, it is best if this is also booked in advance. If you are interested please tick the column and I will try and book places. You will need to pay £10 for this on the day.
